What does NHS Dental Care cost?

NHS dental care is free for children under the age of 18, and for those under 19 and in full-time education. It is also free on the NHS if you fall under any of the NHS exemption criteria (for more information on who is entitled to free NHS dental treatment, visit the NHS website).

For all other patients treatments are subsidised by the NHS with the outstanding balance being paid by the patient. For more information on pricing please see the NHS banding guidelines below.

What does NHS Dental Care cover?

NHS dental care provides fundamental treatment aimed at maintaining your oral health. This includes dental examinations, fillings, root fillings, crowns, bridges and dentures. Additional treatments such as orthodontic (teeth straightening) treatments and dental implants can be available to some on the NHS dependent on whether there is a medical need or if you are under 18. Other patients will need to access this through our Cosmetic Dentistry services.

What NHS Dental Care does not cover?

Cosmetic and advanced treatments are not covered by the NHS, but can instead be accessed via our private practice. They are also accessible to Denplan customers.
